Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music circulated all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded with Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole in her Creed II sound track on November 16. In February 2019, the video music for the song was released. It has had more than three million YouTube views within a week. In December of 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
