Selena
She was a singer, performer and designer and broke barriers in the world of music. Her ethnicity was Mexican American, however she was still traditional. She was the first to bring Tejano into mainstream music. The same way most people grieve a celebrity who died too young, her death was untimely and shattered the progress of her career. Since then, her fans are working even harder to keep in mind what she's achieved. Selena's shooting death sparked emotions in the Latino culture that can be similar with Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena's music, the singer who was wildly successful across Latino communities throughout North America touched people young as well as old. Selena might have been described by certain people as the Latina Madonna, however she is still a great role model. Selena's family values off stage and involvement in AIDS awareness campaigns provide a great example.
